Health awareness meet for pregnant women held

Kakinada: Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) conducted an awareness programme for pregnant women at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday evening. RIL’s Ladies Club president Mousami Bakshi participated as the chief guest of the programme and appreciated that such events should be conducted in villages also. 

She stressed on the need for the nutritional food intake to all the young mothers and lactating mothers. She advised all the pregnant women that the more they eat the more they stay healthy while in the pregnancy. Mousami also advised the lactating mothers that they should vaccinate their young periodically as per the physician’s instructions.

Speaking on the occasion Deputy Director, I&PR M Francis said that institutional deliveries help the mother and child from the hazard of delivery issues. In this connection, nutrition food packets were distributed to lactating women. A healthy baby show for the age of below 6 months was also conducted and mementoes were given to the winners. 

Assistant Civil Surgeon K Anitha highlighted the importance of the immunisation to the newly born children. Nearly 150 pregnant women and lactating mothers from Gadimoga Panchayat participated at the awareness camp. Programme Officer Dr D Rajeswari and P Subrahmanyam, S Ramanarao and B Peddiraju from Reliance Industries also participated.
