Maoist surrenders, gets cash reward
Kakinada: A Maoist surrendered before the district Superintendent of Police, Vishal Gunni here on Thursday. Producing him before the media, the SP said that the surrendered Maoist Mutta Rayi (29) alias Bhirayya belongs to Penkurayi village of Kalimela Mandal in Odisha State.
He further informed that the Mutta Rayi attracted towards the Moist Doctrines in the year 2004 and joined in the RPC legion in the same year and worked until 2012. Gunni informed that he worked as a gunman for Damodar (SZC Member) and was given ACM (Area Committee Member) status. He was given an SLR and a pistol in the year 2012.
The SP said that the surrendered Maoist was involved in as many as 30 crimes including the murders of some civilians and some police personnel. He surrendered because he disliked the theories of the RPC legion and Maoism, SP added.
He escaped and fled to Chennai in fear of his life. Gunni announced instant financial help of Rs 20,000 and said he would write a letter to the SP of Malkangiri that the reward on his head which was one lakh rupees would also come to him. Rampachodararam ASP Aajitha, OSD Ravi Shankar Reddy and others participated.
