Amareswara Swamy Temple decked up for Mahasivaratr
Guntur: Amareswara Swamy Temple at Amaravati decked up for Mahasivaratri to be held on February 13. The temple was colourfully decorated with lights.
Over two lakh devotees are expected to visit the temple on the occasion of Mahasivaratri and perform abhishekams and pujas to Goddess Balachamundeswara Sametha Amareswara Swamy. The women will perform vrutas. Bhaja mandalis will perform cultural programmes. The devastanama authorities will perform special puja to the presiding deity Lord Amareswara Swamy since early morning of February 13.
The devasthanam authorities made arrangements to distribute free drinking water and butter milk to the devotees visiting the temple. They will distribute free lemon rice packets to the devotees visiting temple. The irrigation department has already made arrangements for bating at the ghats at the temples because there was no sufficient water in the river. Toilets and lights were also set up at the ghats.
The devasanam authorities set up separate queues for the convenience of the devotees visiting the temple. For Ekadasa Rudrabhishekam Rs 200, for special darshanam Rs 50 would be charged. They have already set up shyamiyanas on the temple premises. After performing abbhishekams and special pujas to the Lord Amareswara Swamy, Siva Kalyanam will be performed on February 13 mid-night. Later, Radhostavam will be conducted.
