CPI to continue fight for SCS

Rajamahendravaram: CPI state executive committee member Ravula Venkaiah has said that the party will continue its agitation until the Union government fulfills all the promises mentioned in Andhra Pradesh State Bifurcation Act.

Speaking to reporters in the party office here on Sunday, he said Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MPs ruckus in the Parliament was nothing but a drama enacted by colluding with the BJP. The TDP ministers should resign from the Central cabinet, if they were really committed for the development of the state, he demanded.

Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan should fight against Central government along with CPI, instead of forming a Joint Action Committee (JAC). “How long will it take for the Central government to implement the assurances mentioned in the bifurcation act,” he questioned.

Assurances in the bifurcation act and special status were the main points in the ensuing Assembly and general elections, he said. The people of Andhra Pradesh never forget the injustice done to the state both by the Congress and the BJP. He advised both TDP and BJP to put an end to their political gimmicks and tell the facts to the people.

He informed that political decisions would be taken in district level meetings scheduled to be held on February 16 and 17 in Rajamahendravaram. Later, he released a wall poster relating to the district meeting. CPI district secretary T Madhu and others were present.
