Temples spruced up for Maha Sivaratri today
Rajamahendravaram: On the eve of Maha Sivaratri, the cultural capital was decked up on Tuesday. All the Shaivite temples such as Uma Markandeya Swamy Temple, Uma Kotilingeswara Swamy Temple, Visweswara Swamy Temples, Sarangadhara Swamy Temple, etc were illuminated and the respective temple managements made arrangements for a hassle-free darshan to the devotees.
Meanwhile, Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation additional commissioner NVV Satyanarayana inspected the arrangements at Kotilingala Ghat, Chintalamma Ghat, Pushakar Ghat, Padmavahti Ghat, VIP Ghat, Gowthami Ghat and Sraddanand Ghat.
He said drinking water, dress changing rooms, lighting, toilets etc were provided at all the ghats and sanitation workers appointed for round the clock duty. All the officials were directed to take care of the arrangements, he added. Meanwhile, many individuals and organisations erected tents at different places to provide food to the devotees on Maha Sivarartri day.
