DCHS promises action against erring hospital staff

Akiveedu: Dr K Shankar Rao, District Coordinator of Health Sciences (DCHS), West Godavari inspected the Government Area Hospital in Akiveedu on Wednesday on the complaints that the staff and doctors are not treating pregnancy cases.

A complainant K Rupa Devi visited the Akiveedu Government Hospital for delivery. However, the doctors and staff told the relatives of Rupa Devi to go to Bhimavaram Government Hospital as there was no equipment for the delivery cases. On this complaint, the DCHS Shankar Rao visited the hospital in the afternoon. He enquired the hospital superintendent, doctors and other medical staff over the issue and took their written statements. 

Speaking to media on the occasion, the DCHS said that he would take departmental action against the concerned staff in the hospital. The Hospital Development Committee chairman Chunduri Satyanarayana said that all facilities have been provided in the Akiveedu Government Hospital. He assured that action would be initiated not to repeat such a mistake. Committee Director Alluri Samba, Kimidi Nagaraju and others participated in the enquiry.
