Meet on energy resources held

Eluru: Prof V Veeraiah, Vice-Chancellor, Vikrama Simhapuri University (Nellore) has said that material science has its prominence at present day scenario. He participated as chief guest at the international seminar on “Energy resources and materials important to protect the environment” organised by Sir CR Reddy autonomous college here.

Addressing the seminar, Prof Veeraiah said that the silicon oil which extracted from sand has changed the science history in the world. The silicon has a prominent role in the production of materials in the present modern technology development. He said that the western countries of Scotland, Britain and other countries were utilising air, bio-fuel, ocean tidal wave energy, solar energy like renewable energy resources to minimise the environmental pollution. These renewable energy resources could benefit the economic progress of a country, he added.

JNTU-Hyderabad professor K Venkateswara Rao while delivering keynote address, explained that the concept of nano substances was not a new thing and it was the part of the systems that we had been following since ancient ages. The science has developed from atom to nuclear and now it has transformed into nano-materials. Now the nano-science was ruling the science all over the world.  

The Osmania University chemistry professor Sivaraj, Yerraguntla Government Degree College principal Dr G Sivaramaiah, M Guru Murthy and Deputy General Manager of Andhra Bank addressed the seminar. The college president Kommareddy Rambabu, secreary NVK Durga Rao, Autonomous College correspondent US Ram Prasad, convener NVVS Prasad, seminar coordinator KA Emmanuel addressed the students. The students, lecturers, professors and researchers submitted over 50 research papers at the seminar.
