Court fines 65 persons for drunken driving
Ongole: The Ongole Traffic Police arrested 65 persons for drunken driving and presented them before the Mobile Court in Ongole on Thursday. The court imposed fines worth Rs 1.3 lakh to them and sent for counseling.
The Ongole traffic DSP, K Venugopala Rao offered counseling to the people involved in the drunk driving at the traffic police station. He explained them about the value of life, reasons for road accidents and the loss to the victims involved in them and their family members.
He also made the people understand the importance of following traffic rules and the impact of violation on them and the fellow commuters on road using multimedia tools. The DSP made them take an oath for not involving in drunk driving again, before leaving from the counseling session.
