Fill up 7 lakh posts in railways: MLC
Vijayawada: Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) Krishna district leaders organised a rally from Dharna Chowk to Vijayawada Railway Station raising slogans against the Central Government with a demand to fill vacant posts in Railway Department on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, United Teachers Federation MLC Boddu Nageswara Rao, said there were more than seven lakh vacant posts in Railways and the Central government was not in a position issue notification to fill the vacancies. The ruling BJP government promised the youth, if they were elected to form government, they would give jobs to the unemployed youth, but did not keep up their word, he said.
He strongly condemned the GO issued by the Central government to recruit retired railway employees and demanded that the government withdraw the GO and issue notification for filling the vacant posts to recruit unemployed youth and stop privatisation.
He appreciated the DYFI leaders for organising rally to bring pressure on the Union government to implement their demands. DYFI state president Ramanna, state committee member Praveen, Swamy, Rahesh and others were present.
