All India FIDE rated chess competitions kick off
Guntur: All India FIDE Rated Chess Competitions started at VIVA School at Nambur under the aegis of Anand Chess Wings on Friday. The four-day-long competitions were inaugurated by the VIVA-VIIT chairman Vasireddy Vidyasagar. About 600 players came here to participate in the chess competitions.
Speaking on the occasion, Vasireddy Vidyasagar said that playing of chess game would improve concentration and intelligence and expressed happiness over presence of players from various states. He appreciated the Anand Chess Wings for conducting the programme.
Andhra Pradesh Chess Association president YD Rama Rao said that many chess players from Amaravati had excelled and urged the players to continue their legacy and thanked the school management for extending their cooperation and support for conducting the All India FIDE Rated Chess Competitions. VIVA principal CT Joshi, VVIT principal Mallikarjuna Reddy were among those participated.
