Students lay siege to SRR College

Vijayawada: The leaders and members of Students Federation of India (SFI) organised 'Chalo SRR College' and boycotted the classes and laid siege to the principal office on the college premises here on Monday.

Speaking to the media persons, SFI Krishna district vice-president O Yesu Babu said ‘Chalo SRR College’ was organised demanding the Krishna University vice-chancellor and other officials to conduct a mega supplementary examination for failed students studying in various degree college under Krishna University.

They further wanted the authorities to open a sub-centre of Krishna University at Vijayawada, and asked the university staff to correct the wrongly printed names and photographs on hall-tickets.

The agitators wanted the officials to continue NCC unit as it is, which was closed without any information and notice. He further said that the occupied SRR College land should be given back to the college.

A representation with all the demands was given to the college principal. The principal told that he was observing the efforts by SFI regarding NCC unit and college land. The principal assured the SFI leaders that he would speak to the Krishna University vice-chancellor and solve the issues.

SFI city secretary Ch Sumanth, members T Rakesh, Raghu, Sai, Praveen, Mani, Dinesh and college students were present.
