Coromandel distributes scholarships to rural girls

Ongole: The Coromandel International Limited, a part of Murugappa Group distributed the scholarships to 114 girls studying in government schools in rural areas of the Prakasam district, in a special programme held in Ongole on Thursday.

The vice-president of the Coromandel International Limited Ganta V Subbareddy, DEO VS Subbarao, deputy director of agriculture KSH Abdul Sattar, senior zonal manager of Coromandel International Limited at Guntur Satchidananda Reddy, divisional HR K Sudhakar, in-charge at Ongole M Satish participated in the programme and distributed the scholarships. The company selected the top two girls of 9th class in all mandals of the district and announced Rs 5000 and Rs 3500 as scholarship to the first and second rankers. 

Subbareddy asked the girls to improve creativity, courage and skills that give challenging attitude. He asked them to shun bad thoughts and set a goal to achieve in the future and work hard for it. He said that he want the girls to understand that hard work definitely pays and anything can be achieved with commitment.

The DEO Subbarao said that it was our choice of what to store in the brain. He said that 70 percent of the information stored in many people’s brains was waste and non useful information. He wished the girls from rural areas to do more hard work in studies and achieve great things in life.
