Electricity contract employees organise rally

Ongole: The contract electricity employees in the district organised a seminude rally in Ongole on Thursday on the third day of their strike with demands for the government to regularise them and provide equal salary for equal work.

The contract employees organised the seminude rally from the Vidyut Bhavan to the Power Office in the town. The JAC leaders K Paparao, S Venkatrao, M Ramanjaneyulu, YVS Naresh and others speaking at the Vidyut Bhavan demanded that the government regularise the contract employees, remove contract system, announce equal salary for equal work, cancellation of piece rate and provide direct payment to the workers.

After the rally, they submitted a representation to the DET and divisional engineer and requested them to send their requests to the government.
