YSRCP alleges housing scam in municipality

Bhimavaram: Grandhi Srinivas, former MLA and Bhimavaram constituency YSRCP coordinator alleged that the TDP government became a fully corrupt government. He claimed that the YSRCP will come to power in the next election and the people's woes will be solved in YS Jagan’s government only.

The Undi and Bhimavaram constituencies YSRCP booth conveners training classes started at GVR Kalyana Mandalam here on Wednesday. Grandhi Srinivas, while addressing as chief guest, said that during his term as MLA of Bhimavaram, he implemented development works on a permanent basis. However, now the Bhimavaram municipality became a place of corruption, he alleged.

He accused the municipal officials and TDP leaders of involving in multi-crore scam in the name of housing to the poor. He said that he had acquired 82 acres during his term and even after nine years, the poor did not get the house. The officials had been turning the poor into debtors by applying for Rs 500 crore as bank loan in the name of construction of apartments. When he asked the municipal Commissioner, the loan was reduced to Rs 400 crore. This was a strong proof of corruption that took place in the housing for the poor, he added.  

He informed that the booth committees were key for the next elections and training would be imparted to the conveners. Undi convener PVL Narasimha Raju, former MLA Mudunuri Prasada Raju, Gopal, Tambala Haribabu, East Godavari former ZP chairman Chelluboina Venu, Pericherla Vijaya Narasimha Raju, Kode Yugandhar, Tirumani Yedukondalu participated in the training classes.
