BJP betrayed AP on Special Status: JAC

Update: 2018-03-06 04:55 IST

Kakinada: “Special Category Status is a right to the people of Andhra Pradesh and the Central government betrayed the people of AP,” said the leaders and activists of Joint Action Committee, Jana Sena Party and the disabled person’s association.

The activists and leaders from Jana Sena Party, Employee JAC and disabled staged a dharna in front of the Collectorate here on Monday. Speaking on this occasion, they alleged that the BJP led NDA government at the Centre had played a dual role. When the party was in opposition at the time of the bifurcation of AP, it demanded Special Category Status for a period of 10 years. But after coming to power in 2014, it was intentionally declining the Special Category Status to AP.

They demanded that the Central government fulfil all the promises made to AP in the re-organiasation act. They said that if the BJP betrays AP people, then they would vote against the BJP in the coming elections in 2019 like they did it for the Congress in 2014 elections. Employee JAC district president Booriga Aseervadam, Jana Sena Party activists Gopal and others participated.
