ONGC’s helping hand to lepers
Rajamahendravaram: As part of social service activities, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Limited has extended its help to the residents of Leprosy Colony.
The ONGC Officers Mahila Samithi (OOMS) visited the colony at Pidimgoyyi here on Saturday evening. The OOMS distributed as many as 13 rice bags, 18 kgs of dal, 10 kgs of idly ravva, eight kgs of tamrind, 8 kgs of oil, 40 soaps, 10 kgs of upma ravva, 20 bed sheets, 20 saris, four plastic mugs and fruits and biscuits.
Later, the OOMS president, D Durga Bhavani Sekhar said that the organization was committed to better the lives of deserving poor people in ONGC's operational area. The OOMS was playing a key role in identifying the needy in addition to the core CSR team of the company.
The OOMS was very much particular to join in the projects which will help empower women to lead good life. The OOMS was always ahead of others in helping the needy in society, she explained. The OOMS is planning to work in association with like-minded non-governmental organizations and also to conduct medical camps etc to help the people, she added.
