Students protest for appointment of teachers

Guntur: Students under the banner of Progressive Democratic Students Organisation (PDSO) staged a dharna at Collector’s grievance programme on Monday, demanding that the government appoint sufficient teachers in the mandal parishad high school in Ramachandrapuram in Veldurti mandal of Guntur district.

Addressing the gathering, the PDSO state general secretary, SK Baji Saida said that while 200 students were studying in the school, there was only one teacher in the school. Meanwhile, the government was planning to close the school. He demanded that the officials construct the compound wall to the school and urged to supply nutritious food to the students to as per menu. He asked the authorities to appoint sufficient teachers. Later, the agitators raised slogans against the district administration.
