Rajamahendravaram: Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU) vice-chancellor Prof Murru Mutyala Naidu, has advised the students to inculcate the habit of serving the needy in society. Instead of prying the God to do good for the hapless it is better to help them personally. Anyone feels happy if they receive help personally instead of pray for them.

Participating in the closing ceremony of three-day training camp jointly organised by Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) and AP Youth Services Organisation on the campus here on Monday, he said that the students should emulate great personalities such as Mother Teresa who is a glaring example for service.

Mother Teresa was an inspiration to all and the students should remember her services rendered to society.  The training programme helped the students to extend benefits to the needy at the time of natural calamities and also to extend first aid to the affected people. Nannaya University students should participate in social service activities and bring laurels to the university, he added.

IRCS chairman YD Rama Rao, thanked the vice-chancellor and coordinator Dr P Rajasekhar for conducting the programme successfully.Later, IRCS certificates distributed to 65 students who completed the training.University registrar Dr T Ashok and others were present.
