Selections for Nandi Natakotsavam begin

Rajamahendravaram: The nine-day Nandi Natakotsavam selection competitions commenced at Sri Venkateswara Anam Kala Kendram here on Wednesday. The competitions will be continued up to March 22. As many as 42 social stage plays, playlets, mythological and Padya Natakams will be staged.

As part of the Natakotsavam selections, Padya Natakams such as Sarangadhara by Sarada Nataka Kala Samithi of  Srikakulam and Bhaktha Ambarisha of Kala Sagar Cultural Association of Rajam and Deepavali by Sri Sai Kala Nikethan Welfare Society of Prahladapuram were staged on the first day on Wednesday.  

The three Padya Natakams received laurels from the audience and the auditorium was resounded with the claps of the audience. On the second day, on March 15, three Padya Natakams such as Siva Sannidhyam, Sri Krishana Rayabaram and Yobu Charitra will be staged. The APFDC chairman Ambika Krishna inaugurated the programme.
