Garuda control room inaugurated
Guntur: Additional Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta inaugurated Garuda Control Room at the Assembly on Thursday as part of increased security at the state Assembly during the ongoing budget session. Speaking on this occasion, Guntur Rural SP Ch Venkata Appala Naidu explained how the control room works and useful to step up vigilance.
He said that they were using modern technology to step up security at Assembly. The officials would supervise security from Gardua control room. They had already set up 20 closed circuit cameras at Assembly to supervise security and given body worn cameras to the police personnel on security duty. They had set up TV in the control room. They would follow Face Book, WhatsApp, Twitter, Online News and Social Media. They had been using drone cameras for security alerts.
They stepped up vigilance on the movements of the suspects. If any untoward incident was reported, they would inform the matter to the higher officials to take further steps to solve the problem. For the first time in the State Assembly, itinerary system was being used. Based on this system, they would collect information regarding VVIPs movement and in case of need, they would solve traffic problem.
The higher officials would give rewards to the staff who would do their duties with commitment. If the police personnel on security duty were negligent, they would give memos and take further action. Guntur Rural SP Ch Venkata Appal Naidu appreciated the IT Core Communication department staff.
