Don’t forget culture, says Siddha
Ongole: One should not forget his culture and traditions and that is the reason the state government is celebrating the Ugadi festival as the state festival, announced the Minister for Forests, Environment, Science and Technology Siddha Raghvarao. He participated in the Vilambi nama Ugadi celebrations on Sunday organised by the district cultural department as chief guest and wished the coming year brings all happiness to the people of the state.
Siddha Raghavarao said that the government was giving utmost priority to welfare schemes though the state was suffering with financial problems. He said that the chief minister was trying to develop the state and keep it in the top position in country and requested the public to cooperate with him. He promised to complete the pending projects and welfare schemes and wished the farmers would get a good season this year.
MLC Karanam Balarama Krishnamurthy said that the government was committed to complete the Veligonda project to avoid scarcity of drinking and irrigation water in the region. MLC Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy invited the public to participate in Sri Srinivasa Kalyanam by the TTD and his family on March 31 at the police parade grounds.
Collector Vadarevu Vinay Chand prayed to the god that the year bestows bountiful of rains and fill the rivers and tanks in the district to help the farmers and other agri-based industries. The AJC2, D Markandeyulu, DRO Dr N Prabhakar Reddy, DRDA PD MS Murali, Agriculture AD J Muralikrishna, STEP CEO B Ravi, ICDS PD M Sarojini, social welfare DD Lakshmisudha, DEO Subbarao, RDO K Srinivasa Rao and other officials also participated in the celebrations.
