Ministers see bright Telugu year ahead
Eluru: Minister for Labour and Employment Pitani Satyanarayana aspired the Telugu new year Ugadi would fill happiness in the lives of one and all around the globe.
He inaugurated the Vilambi Ugadi celebrations at YMHA Hall on Sunday. The celebrations were jointly organised by the Andhra Pradesh State Creativity, Cultural and Language Council, the YMHA and the District Cultural Council. On the occasion of Ugadi, Veda Pathanam, Panchanga Sravanam, Kavi Sammelanam, Ugadi dance programmes and cultural activities were organised.
The Minister said that thousands of years ago, our people had calculated accurately the eclipses of sun and moon, apart from movement of planets, stars in the universe. Our ancestors were ahead in science and technology. Such an old Dharma belongs to our culture, he stated.
Excise Minister KS Jawahar, aspired the Ugadi would fill our lives with light and happiness. Vedic Pundits yanamandra Raviprakash Sharma, Gullapalli Sivasarma Shouti Awadhani, Gullapalli China Anjaneya Ghanapati, Mushti Sivaramakrishna Ghanapathi chanted the Vedic hymns and blessed the Ministers and the people. Emani Ramachandra Somayaji Ghanapati of Bhimavaram conducted the Panchanga Sravanam. Along with Ministers ZP Chairman Mullapudi Bapiraju, MLC Ramu Surya Rao, MLA Badeti Kota Ramarao felicitated the Vedic pundits with the memento and the cash award.
District In-charge Collector Pulipati Koteswara Rao, Eluru RDO G Chakradhara Rao, District Cultural Council member Rasaraju, Khajavali, PV Narasimha Rao, Pedapati Ramakrishna, Duvvi Ramarao, Mallikarjuna Rao and Garikapati Kalidas participated. Earlier, the dignitaries relished Ugadi Pachadi.
