Museum to come up in RMC old structure

Rajamahendravaram: The Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) is planning to convert its century-old office building into a museum reflecting the culture and traditions of this area. 

The building was constructed 160 years ago in which great personalities such as Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu, AB Nageswara Rao, etc chaired the
council meetings.

All the wings of the corporation were shifted to its new palatial building and now the old building is vacant. With this, the RMC decided to make it as a museum by keeping the photos of various places and personalities and works under progress. The building's condition was also checked, as it was constructed 160 years ago.

Meanwhile, the corporation also decided to bring past glory to some historical places such as Fort Gate, Kotipalli Bus Station, Azad Chowk and Devi Chowk by constructing necessary buildings there.Earlier, Kotipalli Bus Stand was known as Paul Chowk, Devi Chowk as Moodu Lantarla Veedhi etc.
