Operation Sagar Kavach launched

##BIG-IMAGE#Chirala: The Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, State Maritime Police, Customs, Fisheries and other departments jointly conducting a coastal security exercise, ‘Operation Sagar Kavach’ to check the alertness of the forces at Chirala coast area from Thursday morning to Friday evening.

As part of the exercise, the security forces send a few men with dummy weapons and fake RDX through sea and rail or road to the place secretly. The on-duty security personnel should catch them before they plant the devices at the target in the rush areas in the town. The security at Chirala coast was successful on Thursday and they took four people at Ramachandrapuram beach and two people at Chirala RTC bus stand with bags of dummy weapons.

P Bhaktavatsala Reddy, Chirala Rural CI said that this exercise was being conducted to prepare the security forces to face any untoward incidents and react quickly. He said that they had successfully taken six suspects into custody and found dummy RDX packets with them.
