Electric vehicles need of hour
Rajamahendravaram: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) deputy general manager B Deva Kumar, underscored the need for electric vehicles to save diesel and petrol.
He inaugurated the third international conference on Computing, Electrical, Electronics and Sustainable Energy Systems on the premises of Godavari Institute of Engineering and Technology (GIET) here on Friday. He said there was a need to conduct researches on fuels other than traditional fuel sources. “By the year 2030, electrical vehicles can be seen on the roads in India. Many advanced technologies
available now and they should be used. There are abundant opportunities to generate wind power, hydro power and solar power in the country and the powers can be used for vehicles instead of petrol and diesel,” he said. He appealed to the students to adopt the developments in technology and also think to operate vehicles through electricity.
Department of EEE was organized the meeting and convener Dr B Ravi Kishore presided over the programme.
GIET principal Dr DV Rama Murthi, vice-principals Dr PVGKJ Raju, S Murthi, directors LS Gptha, PRK Raju, dean MVP Rao, general manager Dr PS Raju faculty and students were present.
