Road-widening as per master plan begins

Rajamahendravaram: The Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) has been widening the city roads as per themaster plan.

According to the RMC Commissioner, V Vijaya Rama Raju, many pending road-widening works were under progress. Widening of road between Aava and Morampudi has been pending for many years now.

The road will be widened to a width of 100 feet, for a distance of 2 kms, and the road will be directly connected to the national highway at Morampudi Junction. Because of this, heavy vehicles can directly enter into the city and the traffic at Morampudi Junction will be reduced.

As many as six encroachments have been located on the road and removed. To cater to the future needs, the corporation was developing the roads as per master plan, he added.
