Government doctors to hold Maha Dharna on April 2

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Government Doctors Association (APGDA) has organised emergency general body meeting at Siddhartha Medical College and passed resolutions unanimously on Wednesday.

Addressing the media persons, APGDA convener Dr Jayadheer said the meeting had passed resolutions unanimously demanding that the government immediately solve their problems.  He said that from Thursday they would attend the duties wearing black badges in protest against the government and on April 2 a Maha Dharna would be organised with the support of other associations, he announced.

He demanded implementation of IGC revised pay scales to teaching doctors as the Medical College Faculty was given 2006 scale.He demanded to revoke the suspension of Dr Srinivasan by the government of AP for voicing in favour of the doctors.

Other demands include implementation of time-bound pay scales to Directorate of Health and Andhra Pradesh Vaidya Vidhana Parishad doctors, filling up of the vacant posts through fresh notification as more than 50 per cent posts were vacant.
He also demanded regularisation of RIMS hospital.
