Natural air conditioners

A farmer, who climbed a palm tree, showing skill in cutting down leaves of other surrounding palm trees with a sickle tied to a  long stick at Mandadam in Guntur district. 

The palm leaves are used to erect tents in compound of buildings, to build small huts and cover non-concrete slab houses for a cooling effect during summer. With steady rise in day temperatures, the demand for palm leaves increased to beat the heat
