Theatre development programmes to start from Achampet
Vijayawada: In connection with the World Theatre Day, the Government of Andhra Pradesh organised a programme at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College on Tuesday evening.
The chief guest of the meeting Dr D Vijaya Bhaskar, CEO, Creative and Culture Commission, Government of Andhra Pradesh said that theatre should get past glory. He said that the Government was keen to promote theatre and the academy was also set up to have direct access for the artistes to approach.
Gummadi Gopalakrishna, Chairman, Nataka Academy said that the theatre developmental programmes would start from Achampet.Dr Kandimalla Sambasiva Rao, Vice-chairman, Nataka Academy read out the message of International Theatre Institute, Paris.
The Cultural Department of Andhra Pradesh felicitated Bobbillapati Gopala Krishna, Malladi Gopala Krishna, R Vijayalakshmi and Guntupalli Anjaneyulu for their excellent service to the theatre.
Senior Journalist Turlapati Kutumaba Rao, Potluri Harikrishna, P Panduranga Rao were present on the dais.The department organised Magic show of BN Reddy and Tappetagullu of Satteyya troupe on World Theatre Day. A playlet ‘Chali Cheemalu’ was also staged on this occasion.
