All set for Srinivasa Kalyanam today

Ongole: Arrangements for Sri Srinivasa Kalyanam, the celestial marriage of Lord Srinivasa, to be held on Saturday are complete at the Police Parade Grounds in Ongole, announced the authorities.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam and Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy family are performing the wedding of the gods on a specially designed platform with 120 feet length and 60 feet breadth at the parade grounds under the guidance of cine art director K Ashok.

The district Joint Collector S Nagalakshmi, Ongole RDO Srinivasa Rao, SP B Satya Yesubabu and other officials made sure that the arrangements for the wedding, parking for the public and VIPs are fool-proof. The authorities expect that around 40,000 people will participate in the marriage. 

The wedding area is provided with three entrances for common public while one was dedicated to the VIPs and another entrance for the entering of chariot that was be brought after the Nagara Sobha Yatra that will start from the MS Function Hall near the Magunta office in the evening.

The police arranged five parking places for the common people and VIPs attending the marriage. The Taluk CI Ganga Venkateswarlu said on Friday that the people coming from Pernamitta side should park their vehicles at the PTC Ground and St Xavier’s High School Ground.

 The people coming from RTC Bus stand side should park their cars in power office compound while the two wheelers will be parked at the Chimakurthy Eye Hospital grounds. Those coming from the Guntur side should park their cars at the Xavier’s High School ground. Those people coming from Mangamoor road, Sujatha Nagar should park their cars at PTC ground and park their bikes at the Ramalayam parking ground.

The authorities asked the public to cooperate with the police and other security agencies to see that the programme will go on smoothly without any law and order problem and reach their homes safely following their instructions after completion of the programme.
