GGH spends Rs 15 cr on latest equipment

Kakinada: Government General Hospital (GGH) Superintendent Dr M Raghavendra Rao said that an amount of Rs 15 crore was spent in a span of one year to provide latest medical equipment along with basic facilities to the patients.

Disclosing the details at a press conference here on Thursday, he said the doctors were providing quality medical aid to the patients apart from giving medicines
free of cost. A multi-level parking complex would also be coming up on the hospital premises. In the last one year, a new CT Scan unit under PPP mode was provided along with 23 beds dialysis units, he said.

The Superintendent informed that as many as 11 ventilators were arranged. Out of them, five each were allotted to adults and children and one for just-born children. A special out-patient wing for women, a pacemaker placing centre for cardiac patients, toilets and bathrooms were modernised etc., for the benefit of the patients. 

There was no dearth of funds for the development of hospital and also to provide amenities to the patients.Information and Public Relations department deputy director M Francis was present.
