‘Rasaramyam…’ enthralls audience

Vijayawada: As part of Srirama Navami celebrations, the Department of Language and Culture, Government of Andhra Pradesh conducted a musical and literary feature ‘Rasaramyam…Ramayana Kavyam’ at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College here recently.

The feature illustrated the incidents from the life of Lord Rama right from birth to crowing as king of Ayodhya (Pattabhishekam). Mallapragada Srimannarayana Murthy gave excellent commentary with his soft and pleasing voice to this feature.

Popuri Gowrinath, Gayatri and Charumati Pallavi rendered the Keerthanas pertaining to Malayamaruta, Kalyani, Jhunjhuti, Kedara Gowla, Madhyamavathi, Reeti Gowla ragas. The rendering of this family group was appreciated by the music lovers.

Instrumental support was rendered by Palaparthy Nageswara Rao on violin, Sasidhar on veena, BVS Prasad on mridangam, Lakshmi Sankar on morsing and also Anjaneyulu.
