Amaravathi Natyotsav concludes

Guntur: The two-day-long ‘Amaravathi Natyotsav’ concluded at Venkateswara Swamy Temple Auditorium here on Saturday.  Sri KRKM Memorial Academy of Fine Arts in association with Creativity & Culture Commission, Government of Andhra Pradesh organised the event.

Sri KRKM Memorial Academy was organising Amaravathi Natyotsav since 2016 to explore the talent of young dancers. During this festival, the talented artistes performed different dance formats like Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Mohiniattam, Perini, Kathak and Odissi.

P Harshita, Hasmitha, Mahati, Y Chytrika, Navadeepika, Sri Samhita, the disciples of Koka Vijayalakshmi, a noted dancer and choreographer, presented an admirable inaugural dance ‘Vinayaka Kowtham’. 

It was followed by Andhra Pradesh Dance Forum’s ‘Kuchipudi’ items by the students of Dr Raghu Patruni Srikanth (Srikakulam). The students, Kondinya, Balachandar, Neha, Soundarya, Sayi Prasanti, Lahari, Neha, Lakshmi Prabha, Gayatri Varshita showcased the items like ‘Krishna Pada Chalanam’, ‘Sivoham’ and ‘Kari Nrisimhudu’.

An admirable ‘Yakshagana’ presentation titled ‘Moksham’ in Bharatanatyam style was given by Sravan Ullal, Kiran Ullal and Shaina Sravan of Mangalore. 

The Yakshaganam was based on Bhagavatahm. According to Hindu mythology, any person who was killed by God, the same life will surely attain ‘moksham’. The epic tells the same thing and the demons like Ravana, Kumbhakarna, Kamsa, Sishupala, Hiranyaksyapa and Hiranyaksha were killed by Srimaha Vishnu in his different ‘avatarams’. The present dance feature was portrayed the incidents like Pootana Vadha, Kamsa Vadha.

The programme was concluded with the Kerala dance format ‘Mohiniattam’ by Anusmitha Bhattachrya (Kolkata). She presented Ganesh Stuti and Tulasidas Bhajan. The first day programme was appreciated by the connoisseurs of Guntur and surroundings.

The second day festival commenced with the Bharatanatyam dance items Pushpanjali and Keerthana  by  P Sridevi and B Sreeja of Hyderabad. It was followed by the North Indian dance style “Kathak” by Sanchita Chakraborty of Kolkata. She presented the items Ram Bhajan and Ardhanareeswara.

Hariharanarthanam, a Perini dance format of Kakateeya dynasty was presented by Kondeti Ravi Kumar of Hyderabad. Odisha state dance style ‘Odissi’ was impressively showcased by Shib Narayan Banerjee. The artiste preformed the items like ‘Vishnu Vandanam’, Simhedra Pallavi’ and ‘Mahadeva’.

Dr Amareswar Galla, Vasireddy Vidyasagar, K Haranatha Reddy, S Subba Reddy, R Srinivas shared the dais and appreciated the artistes and their talent during the festival.

The founder and secretary of the organization, Koka Vijayalakshmi conducted the programme. Kaja Venkata Subrahmanyam, M Balachandra Rao and others were also present. The dance lovers gathered in the auditorium expressed that similar programmes should be organised frequently to promote Indian Culture and Arts.
