Students, youth stage protest for SCS
Vijayawada: The Student Youth Organisation JAC organised an innovative protest against the BJP-led NDA government at Pundit Nehru Bus Station on Sunday, with a demand to accord Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh (AP).
The JAC members with flowers in their ears raised slogans. “Don’t make us fools,” “SCS is AP people’s right,” “Implement bifurcation promises,” slogans resonated.
TDP students wing Telugu Nadu Student Federation (TNSF) on the advice of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu participated in the protest against the BJP.
JAC coordinator and Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) state president M Surya Rao said the ruling political parties both at State and Centre cheated the people of AP for the last four years by not according SCS and not implementing bifurcation promises. He said they would lay siege of the BJP leaders in the days to come.
All India Youth Federation (AIYF) state president Sd Asif demanded the Chief Minister to come out in public and fight against the BJP government for SCS to prove his integrity. YSRSU district president Dodda Anji Reddy wanted all the Members of Parliament (MP) from AP to resign and join the protest and fight against the Central government for SCS.
He said all the State Ministers should resign if they were really committed to SCS and participate in the agitation. They will also participate in the indefinite strike for achieving the demands.
TNSF state president N Brahmam Chowdary assured that he will discuss the issue with Naidu to withdraw all cases and allegations on the students all over the State who participated in the SCS agitation for the last four years.Jana Sena students’ wing leader Raghava, SFI city president Koti and others were present.
