CM gives consent for reinstallation of Ambedkar statue

Eluru: All India Dalit Rights Federation (AIDRF) national president Kandula Ananda Rao on Thursday said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu favoured reinstallation of Dr BR Ambedkar statue in Garagaparru village of Palakoderu mandal in West Godavari district.

He said that he (Ananda Rao) along with former MLC Jupudi Prabhakara Rao and AP Bhavan Employees’ Union president K Lingaraju met Naidu at Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in Delhi on Wednesday and submitted a memorandum. The Chief Minister had responded favourably to reinstall the statue of Ambedkar by April 14, he stated.

He said that if Andhra Pradesh Government would not give permission before April 14, the Dalits will reinstall the statue in the village, he said.
