BCs want corporations instead of federations

Ongole: The Andhra Pradesh BC Welfare Association demanded that the state government establish separate corporations in place of various existing federations.

In the protest held at the district Collectorate here on Friday, the association leaders vowed to spread the agitation to all districts and intensify the movement, if the government does not respond to their demands.

Representatives and leaders from various organizations of backward castes, the association state president Kesana Sankara Rao and general secretary Angirekula Adiseshu demanded that the government transform the existing federations into corporations and provide funds to them, if it really wants the welfare of BCs. 

They wanted surety-free loans with subsidy to all eligible BCs and construct Aramakshetrams to each backward caste.

The district president, Goli Tirupati Rao said that the BCs had been facing many issues in the state and it was the time for the government to show its support for them. He announced that similar protests would be held in all districts as they intensify the agitation, if the government does not heed to their demands.
