JSP, Left organise padayatra in Rajamahendravaram
Rajamahendravaram: Jana Sena (JSP) and Left parties organised a padayatra here on Thursday, demanding that the Centre accord Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh. The padayatra started from Morampudi Junction and reached Syamala Theatre Centre passing through RTC Complex, Tadithota Centre and Stadium Road.
Participating in the programme JSP leader Y Srinu alleged that the BJP-led government at Centre had cheated people of Andhra Pradesh by setting aside the promises made in Andhra Pradesh Bifurcation Act-2014. The JSP acts as per the wishes of the people and the party was condemning the attitude of Central government in this regard, he added.
CPI leader Nalla Rama Rao charged the BJP government with denying SCS to the state and playing dual role in this regard. Instead of giving SCS, the party was trying to convince the people by showing various reasons.
CPM leader T Arun announced that the party would fight against BJP government until the latter fulfill the promise of according SCS to Andhra Pradesh. The people were observing the step-motherly attitude of the Central government towards Andhra Pradesh and they would teach a lesson to the BJP shortly.
