YSRCP holds padayatra in Rajamahendravaram

Rajamahendravaram: The YSRCP organised a padayatra from ILTD junction to Kotipalli bus station via Alcot Gardens and railway station here on Monday, demanding that the Central government accord Special Category Status (SCS) and expressing solidarity to its MPs who were on indefinite hunger strike in New Delhi.

Later, addressing the party cadres, Greater Rajamahendravaram president Kandula Durgesh explained that as per the party president, YS Jaganmohan Reddy's promise the party MPs resorted for indefinite hunger strike. The party was fighting for SCS for four years with committment and dedication. Finally the party MPs resigned after moving no-confidence motion against BJP government in the Parliament.

Now, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was trying to get marks from the people showing that he was also fighting for the SCS. “But the people are not in a position to believe him. He took a U-turn within hours, who earlier assured to extend support to YSRCP's no-confidence motion, he added.YSRCP had not colluded either with BJP or Jana Sena Party (JSP) and fighting on its own, he clarified.

Jaganmohan Reddy had many a time asked all the parties to work together to attain the SCS, but in vain, he said. The people were observing the developments as well as party's performance and they would judge the parties in the ensuing elections, he opined.
The party city coordinator RSP Rao, leaders A Virraju, M Sharmila Reddy, JV Lakshmi and hundreds of party activists participated.
