Government keen on BC welfare, says MP

Eluru: In-charge Collector P Koteswara Rao on Wednesday said that social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule had worked hard for the social reforms and women education.

He presided over the 192nd birth anniversary celebrations of Jyotiba Phule held at ZP meeting hall here. The event was organised by BC Welfare Department. Eluru MP Maganti Venkateswara Rao inaugurated the celebrations.

Speaking on occasion, the In-charge Collector said the state government was implementing various welfare schemes for the development of backward classes with the inspiration of Jyotiba Phule.

Eluru MP Maganti Venkateswara Rao (Babu) while paying tributes to Phule stated that Phule had served hard for the women education. The state government had been implementing the welfare schemes for the BCs in society.

MLC Ramu Surya Rao, District Registrar Lanka Venkateswarlu, Agriculture Joint Director Gousia Begum addressed the programme.Earlier, Manganti Babu, MLC R Surya Rao and Koteswara Rao garlanded the portrait of Phule and paid tributes.
