Agitation to continue till SCS achieved

 Guntur: Former MLC KS Lakshmana Rao felt that development is possible with the Special Category Status to AP.Leaders of various political parties under the aegis of Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi protested at the Collectorate here to mount pressure on the Centre for SCS.

Addressing the gathering, KS Lakshmana Rao said that the Centre had backstabbed the state and rejected the SCS. He said that the Centre had failed to keep up assurances mentioned in the State Bifurcation Act and will extend a helping hand to AP.

He warned that they would continue their agitation till the Centre announces the SCS. He further said that if the Centre did not give SCS, it would have to face wrath of the voters in the coming elections.

The CPI district secretary, J Ajay Kumar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi cheated the five crore people of AP and rejected SCS to AP. He said that the latter had hurt the sentiments of the people of the state. 

He opined that development was possible with the SCS and warned that they would continue their agitation till the Centre announces the SCS and fulfill the assurances mentioned in the state bifurcation act to develop the state.

Meanwhile, the employees working in the ZP formed a human chain and registered their protest to mount pressure on the Centre for SCS. They warned that they would intensify their agitation for SCS.

Telugu Yuvata leaders took a Jala Deeksha to register their protest to mount pressure on the Centre for SCS. They went to irrigation tank at Ankireddypalem and took oath (jala deeksha).

Speaking on this occasion, Telugu Yuvata leader Ravipati Sai Krishna said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi who cheated the people of AP took deeksha to cover his failures. He informed that to register failures of Modi, they took up Jala Deeksha and warned that the people would teach a lesson to the BJP in the coming elections. 

He criticised the BJP government for failure to keep up promises mentioned in the state bifurcation act. He came down heavily on the Centre for not announcing a separate railway zone so far to AP and not allotting funds for the construction of state capital.
