Contract Assistant professors blame govt for injustice
Rajamahendravaram: Andhra Pradesh All Universities Contract Assistant Professors Association general secretary M Bhaskar appealed to the state government not to do injustice to 1,500 contract assistant professors who had been working in the universities for many years.
Speaking to reporters here on Friday, he said that the government had conducted screening tests relating to 1,109 assistant professor posts in 14 universities in the state, setting aside the promise given to contract professors in this regard. The Minister for HRD, Ganta Srinivasa Rao assured in the floor of the Assembly that the government to do justice to them, but in vain.
Now the screening test was conducted and expressed concern over the fate of 1,500 contract assistant professors in the state. The government constituted a committee to submit a report on contract assistant professors and so far the committee did not submit its report, he averred.
The government should own the responsibility, if anything happens to the contract assistant professors, he warned.
