Rajamahendravaram: Private Un-Aided College Managements Association president B Suryanarayana and vice-president TK Visweswara Reddy advised the college managements not to pay the online affiliation fees as the government postponed the issue. The issue was pending with Chief Minister and Minister for Education, they said.

Speaking to reporters at Rajamahendri College for Women here on Friday, they said that a state-level association was formed with the representatives of all universities to face the problems arising from Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE). The new body was elected in a meeting held at Acharya Nagarjuna University on April 18.

The APSCHE was insisting the college managements to shift their colleges to the vacant place shown to them, instead of continuing in the existing places, he said. APSCHE was conducting all tests to get income.

At present, the status of university vice-chancellors was degraded and they were treating them as district educational officers. Moreover, it was pity to note that the vice-chancellors were meeting MLAs and APSCHE was responsible for all the problems in the universities.
