Mass thread ceremony performed

Rajamahendravaram: Mass thread ceremony were held at Nalam Choultry under the aegis of Rajamahendravaram Brahman Sangham here on Friday. As many as 11 thread ceremony were performed.

Participating in the programme, Andhra Pradesh State Brahmin Samakya president Jwalapuram Srikanth said that thread ceremony were part and parcel of Brahmin community and every one of the community should pass through the tradition. The Brahmin Seva Sanghams should work for the welfare of Brahmin community and also help the needy.

Conducting mass thread ceremony was a good thing and advised all Seva Sanghams to perform the celestial programme for the benefit of the poor Brahmin community. Thread marriages, conducted in connection with Sankar Jayanthi was a good thing, he added.

Sangham state vice-president M Ravi Kumar, city president B Venkata Ramana, vice-president B K Ramesh, general secretary PM Kumar and many others were present.
