TDP leaders join deeksha
Rajamahendravaram: TDP leaders participated in Dharma Porata Deeksha at BR Ambedkar statue here on Friday, expressing their solidarity to the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu who took part in the deeksha at Vijayawada.
Participating in the fast, Godavari Urban Development Authority (GUDA) chairman Ganni Krishna said Naidu was participating in the fast to protest the step-motherly attitude of Central government towards Andhra Pradesh. The protest should be an eye-opener to Prime
Minister Narendra Modi, he added.
The entire state was supporting Naidu who was striving for the development of the state. Naidu would fight against Central government until the state gets Special Category Status (SCS), he added.
MLC Adireddy Appa Rao said after four years, Naidu decided to do the fast, to convey the feelings of the people to Modi. The BJP government had cheated the people for four years and finally said no to SCS.
MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary said that as an alliance party, the TDP waited for four years and after BJP government said no to SCS and other promises of AP Bifurcation Act, the one day fast was taken up by Naidu for which he was getting tremendous response, he claimed.
Meanwhile, various associations also expressed their support to TDP leaders who were on fast. TDP leaders Challa Shankar Rao, Reddy Maneswara Rao, Adireddy Vasu, TDP corporators and many others participated.
