Summer training camp started at 76 libraries

Ongole: The school children in the age group of 5 to 15 years should utilise the summer training camp by the District Library Organisation, said Joint Collector S Nagalakshmi.She inaugurated the summer training camp at District Library in Ongole on Wednesday.

After inaugurating the training programme by garlanding Goddess Saraswati statue, Nagalakshmi announced that the summer training camps (from April 25 to June 7) were started in 76 libraries in the district. She advised the parents to encourage interested children join the summer camps and help them fill their applications.

She appreciated B Sriramamurthy, P Lakshmi Kumari for joining as the voluntary trainers for storytelling, Sk Ashahi for spoken English, Srishti Ravindra for drawing, S Subbalakshmi for music, B Nageswara Rao for acting.

The Joint Collector said the parents that the children would be more interested in the cultural activities and advised them to focus on one area than many others. She advised the boys and girls to be talented but also behave friendly with each other. She said reading books like Panchatantra helps them expand their horizon and also improve good thoughts. She also shared her experiences from childhood and encouraged the children to participate in sports also.

She appreciated the children from Chandu Dance Academy for their performance, library staff for keeping the books and internet sections beautiful and in order. The District Education Officer, VS Subbarao, library organisation secretary Polisetty Krishna , children and their parents also participated in the programme.
