AKNU to get new look with roads, drains

Rajamahendravaram: Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU) vice-chancellor Prof Murru Mutyala Naidu has directed university engineers to complete the road and drainage works before June 15.

He inspected the ongoing road and drainage works in the campus here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that after completion of the works, the campus would get a new look.

He reminded that from the beginning of the university, the students and faculty faced many problems due to lack of roads and drains. Andhra Pradesh State Education
Welfare and Infrastructure Development Corporation was laying roads, footpaths and drains in the campus, he added.

He revealed that the university was spending an amount of Rs 7.5 crore from the university development funds. He advised the engineers not to compromise on quality of the works. One km road with 22 feet width was laid from national highway to the campus. Five crossroads with good lighting were also laid along with good lighting and dividers, he added.
