Young, elders vulnerable to sunstroke

Kakinada: Young and elders are vulnerable to sunstroke, said noted doctor G Lakshmana Prasad.He participated in the footwear distribution programme to the elderly people under the supervision of former Sarpanch Adabala Ratna Prasad. Speaking on this occasion, he said that age was not a factor and anyone suffer from sunstroke. 

“If our body temperature exceeds more than 102 Fahrenheit it would affect our central nervous system and it is called as sunstroke. The symptoms of sunstroke are vomiting, loose motions, palpitation (irregular heartbeat) and difficulty in breathing,” he explained. 

Dr Prasad advised the elders not to go outside on a sunny day in the summer and wear cotton fabrics in the summer season. He also suggested people to take coconut water, buttermilk and fruit juices during summer.Relangi Bapi Raju, M Subba Rao and Vijaya Lakshmi and others participated.
