IIIT location shifted to Pamur
Ongole: Minister for Human Resource Development and Education Ganta Srinivasa Rao, officially informed Kanigiri MLA Kadiri Baburao on Thursday that IIIT would come up at Pamur instead of Ongole.
The Telugu Desam Party had organised Mini Mahanadu in Pamur on Thursday. The party district president and Ongole MLA Damacharla Janardhana Rao, Kanigiri MLA Kadiri Baburao, ZP vice-chairman Dr Nukasani Balaji and other leaders participated in the meeting. Janardhana Rao explained various welfare schemes introduced by the state government and asked the party cadres to give wide publicity to the scheme.
In the mean time, the minister, Ganta Srinivasa Rao called the local MLA Baburao to inform that the government had taken the decision to shift location of IIIT from Ongole to Pamur. He said that the favorable decision was made by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and the formalities to allot the land by the district Collector were also complete. The MLA thanked the minister and informed the same to the local people.
The district administration had searched for the suitable place for the IIIT at Ongole, but failed to find one. At Pamur, the government found abundant land and the Collector had agreed to allocate the same to the authorities for construction of the buildings immediately.
