MLA lays stone for Mahalakshmin temple

Pithapuram:  Local MLA S V S N Varma on Thursday, laid the foundation for the Rs.1.5 crore Sri Mahalakshmin temple being built by Vagveya Peetham near Sakaleswara Swamy shrine. He performed ‘navaratnasyam’ and ‘sanku pooja, after receiving the blessings of Veda pundits.

Peetham chairman Indraganti Gopalakrishna told the gathering that the temple work would be completed expeditiously with the cooperation of the devotees. He said the ‘garbhalayam’ would be built with architectural grandeur. The chairman announced that the ‘nitya doopa deepa naivedyam’ would be taken in the temple in accordance with the Vaidika and Agama stipulations. Among those present was Municipal chairman Karnam Chinna Rao.
