Rupees 70,000 cr spent on welfare schemes in 4 yrs: Yanamala

Kakinada:  The State government had spent Rs 70,000 crore on welfare schemes during the last four years, informed Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu.

Addressing a public meeting at Dharmavaram in East Godavari district on Sunday, the minister said that as per the promise given during the 2014 elections, the TDP government had spent Rs 24, 000 crore for waiver of agriculture loans to benefit the farming community.

 The minister also said that in addition to welfare of farmers, top priority had been given to irrigation  projects in the state. As part of this, the Polavaram project had been taken up as national project.  The minister vowed to complete the project at any cost and by all means.

People’s representatives including ZP chairman  Jyootula  Naveen , MLAs   Varypula  Subba  Rao,  SVSN  Varma and others were present.
